Kolby Warren was born and raised in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from Centerville High
School in 2012. Kolby attended Simpson College, graduating cum laude with a major in Political
Science and a minor in Business Management in 2015. After Simpson, she attended Drake Law
School, where she completed her education in May 2018. While at Drake, Kolby was involved
with the Student Bar Association as the Secretary, the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law, as a
staff member and Article Editor, and was also a member of Drake Law Women and Delta Theta
Phi Legal Fraternity. She also had the opportunity to spend a week in 2016 volunteering with the
Pro Bono Project in New Orleans, Louisiana helping low-income clients with legal matters such
as divorces and estate planning.
Throughout law school, Kolby worked for Lipman Law Firm, P.C. as a Law Clerk. While
with Lipman Law Firm, Kolby contributed to the book, Advances in the Biology and
Management of Modern Bed Bugs, published in 2018 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. She also
worked in the Drake Legal Clinic’s Middleton Center for Children’s Rights, representing the
children in Child In Need of Assistance (CINA) cases and Juvenile Delinquency Cases. Kolby
was admitted into the Iowa Bar in September 2018.
In her free time, Kolby likes to spend time with her family and friends, travel, bake
cupcakes, read biographies, and work with young women as an advisor for Simpson College’s
chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
