Kate Simon was born and raised in Waukee, Iowa. For undergraduate, she went to Arizona State University
where she studied business and global politics. Upon returning to Iowa, she attended Drake University
Law School where she was involved in the criminal defense clinic at the Drake Legal Clinic. Kate
represented 10 clients up until trial and performed hearings, pretrial conferences, and arraignments.
Kate is also an advocate for animals and was actively involved in Animal Legal Defense Fund as the Vice
President where she brought awareness to treatment of animals throughout Iowa. She was the Vice
President of the International Law Society and is proficient in German. Kate has international experience
from living in Hamburg, Germany, studying abroad in Nantes, France during law school, and having
traveled to more than 20 countries until settling in Des Moines, Iowa.
Before joining McCormally & Cosgrove, Kate worked as a legal clerk expanding her skills in family law, personal injury, and business law. Aside from her passion for helping her clients, Kate enjoys traveling, horseback riding, running, and learning new languages.
